Russell qualified with a medium-sized practice in 1979. He spent two years at KPMG's London office where he carried out work on mergers and acquisitions and a number of special projects. Russell subsequently spent two years at N M Rothschild & Son Limited in their asset management department. He was PA to a director and represented N M Rothschilds at meetings on their equity-based funds.

In 1983 Russell, together with two other partners, founded Hazlems, which merged to form Hazlems Fenton in 1989. He is head of litigation support and has prepared many reports to assist the court in litigation disputes and has attended court as a forensic expert witness.

Russell has a varied client base, as well as specialising in forensic accounting and due diligence work. He also provides strategic advice to owner managed entities assisting them in developing their businesses.

Russell has a number of directorships of companies. He is a member of the Firm’s Management Committee.
